We took the stairs down from the United Club and walked the short distance to our gate. Boarding was quick, and we soon took our seats.

United 545
Boston to Chicago
Seat 5F
Boeing 757-200

My first impression of the seat was: man, that’s wide. I don’t think I had been able to fully appreciate United First on my last flight, given that I was totally passed out.

I sat down and was offered a pre-departure beverage and chose apple juice. It was served on a napkin.

We soon pushed back from the gate. As we taxied, I spotted a number of interesting planes, including a Hainan Airlines 787 and a JAL 777.

As we took off, we got some awesome views of cold, snowy, twilight in Boston.

When we leveled off, the meal service began. I started with another apple juice, which was served with nuts…

But then my sister’s fiendish penguin stole it!

I had a choice between a chicken salad and chicken teriyaki for dinner. Given that teriyaki chicken is one of my favorite dishes ever, I went with that. The whole meal was served together on a plate. I got a salad as well as some bread.

Given that what I had heard about United’s catering in the past, my expectations were fairly low. However, I was completely blown away. The chicken was great and the salad was the best I’ve ever had on a plane.

The meal service was finished with a cookie, which was awesome.

After I finished dinner, I watched “Shark Tank” for a little while. Some of the people’s ideas were utterly hilarious.

As we passed over the Great Lakes, the sunset was amazing.

Soon enough, we began our descent into Chicago.

When we landed at ORD, we began to taxi to our gate. On the way, I spotted this gem, a UA 737 in old Continental colors.

All things considered, it was an awesome 2 hour flight. The food was a highlight. The crew was also very kind and I hope to have a similar flight in the future.
