Aviation Trivia #105

Did you know that the last Boeing 747SP was only retired last year? Built as a shorter, high-performance version of the original 747, it had a range of over 6000 miles (pretty long for its era), it was designed at the request of Pan Am and Iran Air for flights from the US to the Middle East. Ironically, Iran Air was the last airline to retire their SP’s, doing so in June 2016 after 39 years of service.
